Weekly Drawing Awards Scores of Books and Subscriptions
By Ron Kopczick | December 4, 2009
By the time 2009 concludes, the online Weekly Drawing of the Pentecostal Evangel will have awarded more than 160 books and 50 print subscriptions to its winners. The drawing will commemorate 200 weeks on the Evangel Web site with a special prize package for the Jan. 7, 2010, winner, who will receive a one-year print subscription to the magazine, a signed copy of Theology in a Nutshell by Editor Ken Horn, and a selection from the PE Books library.
During the course of its nearly four-year run, the Weekly Drawing has awarded a wide assortment of books from such imprints as Onward Books, Gospel Publishing House, and PE Books. Authors represented have included Assemblies of God General Superintendent George O. Wood, Assistant General Superintendent Alton Garrison, Convoy of Hope President Hal Donaldson, Ken and Peggy Horn, Lillian Sparks, Kerry Clarensau, and the late Richard Champion.
Thousands of entries to the Weekly Drawing have been received from all over the world, 39 countries to be exact. Winners have represented 43 states and four nations outside the U.S. Among the states producing at least nine winners are Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, California, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
For the past 10 weeks, GPH has partnered with the Evangel to provide two-item prize packets. The upcoming Dec. 10 drawing will be the final GPH-Evangel cooperative effort for 2009. Deadline for the current contest is Saturday, Dec. 5, at 11:59 p.m. (CST). To enter the contest, visit www.pe.ag.org and click on the Weekly Drawing button located on the left side of the Evangel’s home page.
