Key Bearers Can Change More Lives This Christmas
By Ron Kopczick | October 22, 2009
Last Christmas, Key Bearers across the United States opened their hearts in the midst of a disastrous recession and provided nearly $62,000 during December and January to send a message of hope to the nation’s incarcerated. Donations received from Key Bearers in that two-month period covered the expense of printing and mailing more than 263,000 Pentecostal Evangels to 500-plus correctional facilities.
As a result of such generosity, 1,310 prisoners reported committing their lives to Jesus Christ with the assistance of the Evangel by the end of 2008. It was the greatest number of salvation testimonies received by the Evangel from those serving time for a calendar year. The previous high was 1,195 decisions in 2007.
Besides the men and women behind bars who come to the Lord through the gospel witness provided by the Evangel, thousands more are encouraged and discipled every week in their walk with Christ. A single copy of the Evangel is typically read by at least five inmates.
Now is an excellent time to plan or even make that Christmas gift to the Key Bearers program. With more than 2 million Americans serving time, the ministry of Key Bearers is able to share the real meaning of the holiday season with those who need Jesus in their lives.
Thanks to more than 1,700 individual and churches, over 567,000 copies of the Evangel and Spanish-language Evangelio Pentecostal were underwritten from January through September. To join these life-changers, or just learn more about the ministry, visit the Evangel’s home page at www.pe.ag.org and click on the Key Bearers logo. Somewhere in the U.S., an inmate will be glad you did.
