Evangel Assigned New Booth Location at General Council
By Ron Kopczick | June 5, 2009
Due to modifications of the exhibits at the 2009 General Council in Orlando, Fla., the Today’s Pentecostal Evangel booth will now occupy spaces 727-729-731 in North Hall A2-B of the Orange County Convention Center. The minor relocation will not affect any of the activities planned for the Evangel booth, including the nine book-signing sessions which are scheduled from Aug. 4-7, the four days the exhibit hall is open.
The first 30 guests at each signing will receive complimentary copies of the featured author’s book. Writer and speaker Alicia Britt Chole will sign her book, Finding an Unseen God, during the initial session at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4. Change: Count on It will be signed by missionary broadcaster Bill McDonald at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Later Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m., Chole will return to sign her Anonymous: Jesus’ Hidden Years … and Yours study guide and journal.
There are three author sessions scheduled for both Thursday, Aug. 6, and Friday, Aug. 7. Thursday’s line-up includes Berkeley, Calif., church planter Earl Creps signing Reverse Mentoring at 11 a.m. and Assemblies of God Men’s Ministries Director Tom Greene giving away The Game Isn’t Over at 1:30 p.m. Thursday’s final session will be at 4 p.m. and feature Stanley M. Horton: Shaper of Pentecostal Theology signed by author Lois Olena and Dr. Horton.
Friday’s three signings will feature: AGUSM Chaplaincy Military/Veteran Representative Scott McChrystal and Daily Strength For the Battle at 11 a.m.; Senior Pastor Warren D. Bullock of Northwest Family Church in Auburn, Wash., signing When the Spirit Speaks at 2 p.m. ; and Evangel Editor Ken Horn with Theology In a Nutshell at 3 p.m.
Besides the book signings, visitors to the Evangel booth will receive free copies of the magazine, a chance to win a one-year complimentary subscription to the publication, and can take advantage of discounts for bulk orders placed on either the Oct. 11 Kids Edition or Jan. 31, 2010, Super Bowl outreach edition. Any pastor, meanwhile, can begin or increase their church’s bundle subscription with 25 complimentary copies of the Evangel per week for a three-month quarter or 25 gift copies of the Spanish Evangel per quarter for six months.
