Evangel continues tradition at General Council

By Ron Kopczick | May 15, 2009

Following a tradition that began at the 1997 General Council in Indianapolis, Today’s Pentecostal Evangel will present a series of book signings at its booth during this year’s GC in Orlando, Fla. The Evangel hosted signing sessions at the past six General Councils and the 2000 Celebration. For this year’s council a total of nine book signings are scheduled from Tuesday, Aug. 4, through Friday, Aug. 7, at Booth 636-638-640 in North Hall A2-B of the Orange County Convention Center.

The roster of authors signing their books is finalized and includes, in order of appearance: Alicia Britt Chole (Aug. 4 & 5), Bill McDonald (Aug. 5), Earl Creps (Aug. 6), Tom Greene (Aug. 6), Stanley M. Horton and Lois Olena (Aug. 6), Scott McChrystal (Aug. 7), Warren Bullock (Aug. 7), and Evangel Editor Ken Horn (Aug. 7), who will sign copies of Theology in a Nutshell.

Free copies of the author’s book will be given to the first 30 guests at each of the signings. Dr. Horton, who took part in the original book signings 12 years ago, will greet those receiving complimentary copies of his biography, Stanley M. Horton: Shaper of Pentecostal Theology, written by Dr. Olena.

Further details of the Evangel book signings shall be provided in the weeks leading up to General Council. In addition, full page advertisements appearing in The Council Today newspaper will also list complete information regarding the sessions. The Council Today will be distributed daily from Aug. 4-7 in the convention center.
